Tags & Segments

Organise your contacts into groups and save filters as segments for campaigns.

Tags

Tags are labels you put on contacts to group them. You can add as many tags as you want to a contact.

Examples:

  • Hot Lead
  • Existing Customer
  • Referral
  • Mumbai
  • Follow Up Needed

Add a tag to a contact

Open any contact → click the Tags field → type a tag name → press Enter. You can add multiple tags at once.

Filter contacts by tag

Go to Contacts → click Filters → select one or more tags. SalesByte shows only contacts with those tags.

Bulk add or remove tags

Select multiple contacts using the checkboxes → click Tags ▾ in the floating action bar → use + to add or to remove a specific tag from all selected contacts at once.

Use tags in campaigns

When creating a campaign, you can target contacts by tag. Example: send a Diwali offer only to contacts tagged Existing Customer.

Segments

Segments are saved filters. Instead of setting up the same filter every time, save it once and reuse it.

Example: "Hot leads from Mumbai who haven't been contacted in 7 days" — save this as a segment and use it in any campaign.

Create a segment from filters

  1. Go to ContactsSegments → click New Segment
  2. Add your filters (tags, status, lifecycle stage, date added, custom fields, etc.)
  3. Give it a name and save

Create a segment from a selection

Select contacts using the checkboxes on the contacts page → click Save as segment in the floating action bar → give it a name. The segment stores the exact contact IDs you selected.

Use a segment in a campaign

In the campaign wizard, pick Use a saved segment instead of building the audience from scratch. The segment is applied automatically.

Filter-based segments are dynamic — they re-resolve when you use them in a campaign, so new contacts that match will be included. Segments created from a bulk selection store the exact IDs and do not change.
