Auto-enroll Triggers
Enroll contacts in a sequence automatically when something happens.
Triggers let SalesByte enroll contacts into a sequence without you having to do it manually. Set it once and forget it.
Available triggers
| Trigger | When it fires |
|---|---|
| Tag added | When a specific tag is added to a contact |
| Status changed | When a contact's status changes to a specific value |
| Contact created | When a new contact is added to SalesByte |
| Manual | No auto-enroll — you add contacts yourself |
Set up a trigger
In the sequence setup (Step 1) → pick a trigger type:
Tag added: Select one or more tags. When any of those tags is added to a contact, they're enrolled immediately.
Example: Tag a new lead as Interested → they're auto-enrolled in your nurture sequence.
Status changed: Pick a status (Hot, Warm, Cold, etc.). When a contact moves to that status, enrollment happens.
Example: Contact goes cold → auto-enrolled in a re-engagement sequence.
Contact created: Every new contact added to SalesByte gets enrolled automatically.
Example: Anyone who messages you for the first time gets a welcome sequence.
Backfill existing contacts
When you activate a trigger-based sequence, SalesByte asks if you want to enroll existing contacts who already match the trigger. Click Yes, enroll matching contacts to catch up.
Safety rules
SalesByte never enrolls the same contact in the same sequence twice at the same time. If a contact is already active in a sequence, a second trigger is ignored.
Contacts with unsubscribed status are never auto-enrolled in any sequence.
