Create a Sequence
Set up an automated message series step by step.
Step 1 — Setup
Go to Sequences → click New Sequence.
Fill in:
- Name — something you'll recognise, e.g. "New Lead Nurture"
- Channel — Personal or Business WhatsApp
- Send window — optional, restrict sends to business hours (e.g. 9 AM – 6 PM IST)
- Trigger — what automatically enrolls contacts (or leave as manual for now)
Step 2 — Add steps
Each step is one message with a delay before it sends.
Click Add Step → choose:
- Delay — how long to wait before this message (e.g. 0 days, 2 days, 1 week)
- Template — the message to send
- Variables — map
{{1}},{{2}}placeholders to contact fields (name, company, etc.)
Add as many steps as you need. A typical nurture sequence has 4–7 steps over 2–4 weeks.
The delay on the first step is counted from the moment the contact is enrolled — not from when you created the sequence.
Step 3 — Activate
Click Activate when you're ready to start enrolling contacts. Draft sequences don't send anything.
Enroll contacts manually
Once active, go to the sequence → Enrollments tab → click Add Contacts → search and select who to enroll.
Enroll in bulk
Click Bulk Enroll → build a filter (by tag, status, etc.) → preview how many match → confirm. SalesByte enrolls everyone at once.
Pause or stop
- Pause — stops all sends temporarily. Enrollments stay where they are and resume when you unpause.
- Archive — ends the sequence permanently. Active enrollments are cancelled.
Edit steps on a live sequence
You can add, edit, or remove steps even after a sequence is active. Changes take effect from the next unsent step for each enrolled contact.
If you add new steps at the end and some contacts already completed the sequence, SalesByte asks if you want to re-enroll them for the new steps.
Track performance
Go to Sequences → Reports to see:
- How many contacts are enrolled, completed, active, or cancelled
- Per-step delivery stats (sent, delivered, read)
- Drop-off between steps
